Popcorn Prequel: IRON MAN 3’s Suit-ability

It’s time to reexamine why Shane Black’s third Iron Man film shouldn’t be dismissed, taking the themes of “heart” and “legacy” from prior films and concluding with “identity”. Tony Stark has to yield his obsessive desire for control to three helpers – representing his past, his present and his future – as the Iron Man trilogy “coincidentally” concludes at Christmas. Also in our opening intro, Richard reveals a secret more shocking than the Mandarin!

Iron Man 3 Screenwriter Drew Pearce said “even though on one level what we’re making is an entertaining, moment-to-moment distraction for confection… that in some ways we are trying to tap into something a bit bigger as well… I feel like that’s what everyone should do in every form of entertainment.”  Pretty much explains why we do things like Cinemagogue and Popcorn Theology!
