The Simpsons movie (and the show in general) does something that seems to be a popular trend right now: refer to pop culture and make light of it (see South Park and Family Guy). Whether right or wrong, they are engaging culture. We should take note of this and attempt to do the same. By drawing biblical parallels to the movies we watch, the books we read, or even conversations we have with people, we begin to hone our discernment skills. We should do what The Simpsons movie attempts to do: engage and pillage culture. But instead of doing it for monitary gain, stardom, or some other form of selfish reason, we can use culture against itself to open communication with people and seize an opportunity to bring the good news to all the world.
