regardless of what we believe about the nephilim of genesis 6, all of these stoties of superheroes belie an age old interest in demi-gods, or titans, who were prevalent in all ancient cultures. our oldest non-biblical literature is, I believe, "The Epic of Gilgamesh," which is a pagan version of Noah and the aftermath of the flood. One aspect of the demigod arena is that many do claim that Jesus was just a Jewish attempt at that same old tradition. I believe that this is a strategy of Satan's (Satan, btw, is the akkadian form of the Greek, "Titan"), who, having studied his Bible, according to James, understood bits and pieces of the plan of God, beginning in Gen.3, and has counterfieited it along the way with pre-emptive proxies. Gilgamesh, Osiris, Mercury, and Vishnu are just a smattering of the ancient, pre-christ examples of saviours who died and rose again. It is fascinating as well that Rev 13 suggests this same idea of the antichrist, Whose "fatal wound was healed." Praise God that he has sent his son as a humble servant and a king that rides on the foal of a donkey, and he was "not comely that we should look upon him."
